While several spiders are beneficial in nature, a "Jillion" of them are not welcome in or on our
home. They seek shelter on the homes exterior which attracts many insects. They also have a
protected area to lay their eggs.
Spiders are poisonous. To what degree is dependent upon the type and amount of venom and how
allergic you are to their bite. There have been reports of black widows and brown recluse spiders
in the area. These generally come in freight shipments from the lower 49 states.
Spider control is fairly easy. The home needs to be sprayed on the outside, both spring and fall,
until the population is greatly reduced. I recommend that no further treatment is necessary until
they become a problem again. Generally, treatment on the inside is necessary only when spiders are
evident or if individuals are very allergic.
