"About The Bug People"

"The Bug People" was created in 1979. In the following years, we did predominately commercial work. This included the Anchorage school district for seven years, Captain Cook Hotel, Sheraton Hotel, Mush Inn, Samovar, Big Timber Motel and numerous restaurants.

We found a need to address a serious problem in Alaska with Carpenter Ants. No other Alaskan pest control company has studied the problem in depth. What ensued was a very detailed study of carpenter ants, their habits, their home destruction capabilities, the best way to treat the problem and when to apply treatment. I am the only Ak. state licensed Carpenter Ant Instructor. I teach to the Real Estate Licensees, Home Inspectors, and Residential Home Builders for elective continuing education credit

Through the years I have attended seminars outside and had the opportunity to study with the leading North American carpenter ant authority, Dr. Laurel Hansen. Many new ideas were presented and proven concepts reinforced.
I am also a licensed PCO in the state of Washington and practice in the San Juan Islands and the Bellingham area.
Our approach to insect control is to educate and work closely with the client. We believe in using only as much insecticide as needed, setting up a regular control program and using common sense. We live in an insect world.

Over the years "The Bug People" has diversified and now does not only homes, apartments and property management units, but we also provide home and building inspection pest reports for Ak. home buyers, FHA, VA, Conventional financing and many relocation companies. When you hire us, you receive the finest quality services.
